Not sure if it's the club or the promotion but the last couple times I've went have been great. Very diverse, good music, & 2 or 3 floors to wander between depending on the night. A great place to have a great time. |

The only incentive I have to come here anymore is if there are quality promoters or DJs. Or if a friend is having a birthday... I dont know. The parties here are just inconsistent. And although it has 3 levels, they're not all appealing for different reasons. The upstairs is just not asthetically appealing. No comparison to a place like Harlot or Etiquette, where the owners really invested in the design. I'm not a big dancer of house music, so I don't spend much time downstairs- the "nicer" part of Roe. There's just something about this place that was fun at first, but doesn't really have that "it" factor that makes me want to keep coming back. |

I must say Roe nightclub used to have great management and promoters before 2008, however, lately I and many others have been having terrible experiences with them. The principle of guest list is practically useless. First, they wont move the line at all even if you get there 1 hour early. They wait until line builds a 1/2 block and begin allowing a few starting 10 minutes before close of guestlist. This means the first 20 people if lucky will receive entrance via guest list. Also, the door men have the worst attitude without any greeting or welcome. Once you fight and pay your way inside, you are stuck with a terrible crowd of people. You also get your cardio out for the week by trying to find your friends in any of the 3 levels all night long. I highly recommend you to find a better place to party if you are looking for a good, fun, and friendly crowd. Hopefully this may change someday with new and better promoters. |

I've only ever been to Roe once and it was POPPIN! The upstairs was so packed that it was impossible to get a drink. However, the beauty of the club was that we were able to go to the bar downstairs where the environment was much more relaxed. They still had good music, but we were out of the way of the unmovable mob. The staff is pretty nice too. |

I'm sorry but I hate this place. Although the deco was nice and very appealing they need to change the music and while they're doing that, it might also help to change a couple of your people in the front. We were told by one employee that we can view the place for 5 minutes and if decided not to stay that we could get our money back. We said"great" and proceeded to check things out. As we walked upstairs and back around the back stairways we immediatley decided not to stay, the employee had then refuse to give our cover charge of $20 ea. back, he apologized ,look a bit unsure and said it was his first day, then the cashier with a bad attitude had added that he doesn't know anything. Like, as if, he was retarded..., but he looked ok to me... Funny I thought, if an establishment had promised a certain something, right or wrong, you keep your agreements. Good common sense and curtousy to your guests. Am I Right? Then another employee started to inquire and had added to more negative attitude to an even unpleasant conversation. We were just explaining the situation that occured and no one seemed to aknowledge the fault... duh! To those people who know me..., they'll say that I'm generous and never frugal. It's all about principal ladies and a little respect please. We left decide to head back to a classier club called slide. I rate this 1 for the interior design but beware of the idiots that works at that club. |

The dj and dancers were awesome this past Saturday night. Without them, I don't think I would have had as much fun. The downstairs area was pretty dead, although it's much easier to get a drink there. You would definitely need a drink if you were stuck downstairs the whole night. I would come back here only if the same dj was on and if the vip table next to the dancers/DJ table was available. |

Had dinner here with some friends. The food was great as well as presentation. The best thing I think is that after a meal, you can go right upstairs to burn off some calories and dance to a great mix of music. I had a lot of fun and I'd definitely go back. I thought the crowd of people was also a great mix which always makes it more pleasant. |

I have only experienced their nightclub and the only complaint is the long line they build to attract passing by traffic on Howard street. This system will get old soon as practiced by many nightclubs. Otherwise, the 3 levels provide different rooms with different music for variety. The atmosphere is nice with good decore. |

I RECENTLY CELEBRATED A FRIENDS BIRTHDAY WITH TWO BOTTLES AT ROE. I WAS A BIT SURPRISED AT HOW SMALL IT WAS, BUT NONETHELESS HAD A BLAST. I THINK IT'S TWO LEVELS, I DON'T REALLY REMEMBER BECAUSE WE STAYED UPSTAIRS THE WHOLE TIME - WE HAD THE BEST SPOT, A LARGE LOVELY RED COUCH IN FRONT OF A HUGE MIRROR, WITH OUR LITTLE TABLE AND TWO LOUNGE CHAIRS, AND BEST OF ALL WE WERE RIGHT ON THE DANCE FLOOR, IT WAS GREAT. TRUE - IT GOT CROWDED AT TIMES, WE WELCOMED SOME INTO OUR SPACE AND HAD TO KICK SOME OUT. I WOULD STILL ASK FOR THE SAME LOCATION NEXT TIME I WANT TO RESERVE A TABLE AND I RECOMMEND YOU DO TOO - IT WASN'T JUST A TABLE, IT WAS LIKE A MINI LIVING ROOM! I ALSO ENJOYED THE CROWD ROE ATTRACTS - YOUNG CLASSY IT SEEMED, BUT THE SERVICE AT OUR TABLE WAS KINDA' LOUSY. THEY DIDN'T TEND TO US MUCH AND TOOK OUR DRINKS WITHOUT PROPERLY ADVISING IT WAS LAST CALL. EVEN SO, I PLAN TO GO THERE MORE OFTEN. |

Roe is a cool spot, but every time I've gone it's gotten so crowded to the point where you have no space to dance (specifically the upper level). The nice thing about Roe is that it has three levels playing different music on each, however, I often find myself waisting the entire night going up and down the stairs looking for my group of friends. A good tip is to choose one floor and stay there. I also do not recommend getting bottle service here because the tables are right on the dance floor leaving no space or privacy for you and your friends to dance in. |

Roe is a fun place to go with a group of guys and girls that enjoy listening to trendy house and good hip-hop. The crowd is fun and most of the time polite. Drinks are good and you don't have to wait hours until you reach the bar. Ladies the bathrooms are a nice size. I would also recommend a VIP table on a good party night, or if you like to dance a lot and then take nice breaks for drinks. |

I saw DJ AM at this venue and I still say this was one of the greatest parties in SF. 3 levels to party in make this a great venue with nice changes of atmosphere throughout the evening. You can chill downstairs on couches, or dance you a** off... enjoy. |

I love all the promoters, dj's and hosts, but have to say I was disappointed with the VIP area! For $350, shouldn't have to stand with one leg in front of the other, sideways at MY table. Drunk giants were swipin my bottles and irritating the hell out of me. No bodyguard service whatsoever.. too busy chasin fighters. THe place was WAY to packed, seriously ass to ass. Broken glass all around my table. Then to top it off was charged $150 tip at end of nite.. I don't think so!
I'm sure on a different night, it would be fun, as the cool party people of the bay are sure to be found there, but the Rockstar event.. be prepared to not find anyone and definitely do not book a table! Melissa and the staff were incredibly friendly and the drunk biggies loved the champagne she sent to my table. |

The venue is uncommon in set up (for San Francisco) and is ideal for a nightclub promotion. With three equal square foot floors, bars on all three floors (the basement being much smaller), bathrooms on two levels, and a decent sound system, its a great venue to listen to multiple formats. I worked as an Operator and Host for a year there and found it to be an attractive option for patrons on a Saturday night (the night when most big clubs compete). The sound system could use a significant upgrade as it degrades significantly under temperature stress. The venue itself is beautiful, the staff are cordial and very professional/efficient, and the second and third saturdays of the month - Centro and Elevate, respectively - are the premier parties in the city. If the party is of moderate size, then its a wonderful experience as each floor offers a level of intimacy. If it is too packed, then an open plan club is far better suited as the temperature is unbearable. The front door security is average with patrons but the Head of Security understands the anxiety of patrons and deals with it as can be expected. Definitely book bottle service to attend a party as its the only way to go with Roe's huge booths on the top floor. |
