love the vibe..cool place to just hang out with a group and eat..small and cozy..then you can go upstairs for some drinks and continue to drink..here u lessen the chances of a dui by eating dinner and walking upstairs to party!lol! |

Foxtail is a smallish lounge upstairs from Foxtail restaurant. Although it is referred to as a lounge, it's really more of a mini-club, given the style of music played and the fact that it has a capacity of just over 100 people. This creates a more friendly setting, as the faces become familiar as the progresses.
My only complaint was the music. On the Saturday night I went, there were some songs that you would never expect at an upscale "it" spot. More like wedding songs. I have heard that Thursday and Friday nights are better though.

Foxtail is absolutely the best place in LA right now as far as I am concerned. A somewhat intimate place, it provides a great setting for people watching, dancing, and just hanging at a table. After several visits, I still find myself really just wanting to go here on any given night (esp. Friday). I have not eaten here as of yet, but am looking forward to trying Antonia's menu. Check it out, but probably get a table if you don't know the door staff... |

At the moment, this is my favorite place in LA. While I've yet to eat dinner there, the club/lounge upstairs is exceptional. It is very small and has a great atmosphere. I find it similar to drinking at Bar 1200 in that while it is seemingly difficult to get in, once you are in it is very much worth it. The service is incredibly good and you never have to track down your hostess... she will be with you almost every second that you need her. At places like Area you may only see your hostess twice or three times and I don't really like that.
Probably the least pretentious staff I have ever met and I can't speak any higher of an LA lounge.
ps... have some vodka shots infused with fresh watermelon... made tableside. |
