Not a bad place... not a bad place indeed...

111 Minna; an art gallery generally has 2 maybe 3 demographics. The happy hour demographics, the startup/corporate/magazine events demographics/ and last but not least the nightlife demographics. Each demo has its own unique culture in this venue making it one of the most diverse venues in san francisco. rich in both culture and fun.

I love this place. The music is always kicking and the art always goes right with it. My girlfriend came in from outta town and she loved it! I especially like the Qool on Wednesdays. 7/17/2008 12:18:16 AM

Venue was dope... Its pretty much an Art Gallery turned club... there are a few $10 parking lots around, street parking sucks... other than that i recommend it to anyone and everyone. 6/9/2008 7:54:38 AM

While 111 Minna's unique blend of art and lounge/club is always a great way to start or end your evening. The crowds are always uniquely diverse and the staff are always friendly and attentive (that is if you treat them right). One of the best things about Minna is the longevity of it's staff. If you spend enough time there, you can really feel the family atmosphere projected by the bar staff and bouncers, I think all a testiment to the very open owner Eiming Jung. I honestly believe it is one of the unique venues in the country with its ability to combine art and alcohol in a way that has been simulated but not actually duplicated to the extent and longevity that it has endured. 2/7/2008 7:19:46 AM

Well curated shows. Friendly staff. Good service. Overall positive experiences at 111 Minna. 2/1/2008 10:04:07 AM

I'll always have a soft spot for this place from when Qool began on Wed nights during the dot.com boom and the line would be around the block by 4:30 on Wednesday nights. It remains Qool after all these years, but not too-cool-for-school. The expansion allowed for more art and music space, but it's still cozy.

I enjoy the art about 85% of the time and always run into friends I haven't seen in forever. I never thought I'd say this, but I actually appreciate that it starts and ends early--somebody has to keep me in line on weeknights!!

It's a great venue. A place to mingle and forget that it's only Wednesday. 1/26/2008 11:13:23 AM

The crowd seemed a bit too "haight"-ish mixed with middle-market types getting their after work drinks. The couple nights that I've been there the art on the walls and the DJs didn't strike me as something that merited any cover (albeit purely as a matter of principle - it's always been cheap @ $5-10). I give it 4/5 because I acknowledge that this isn't my scene and if you're looking for "eccentric" people to mingle with after work (or if you're stuck in SOMA and too stoned to get back to your commune) this could be just the ticket. 11/12/2007 2:13:09 PM

The Minna is a great place to see some great art, especially if you like to mix your art with some booze! I have seen some great exhibits from local greats such as Fecal Face or Urban Art Legends like Justin Bua. I once went to a free show at the MInna featuring a two hour set by the one and only Q-Bert. Very eclectic spot, every experience is different! 9/13/2007 9:58:35 AM

This place is "IT." I've been for the Qool parties on Wednesday nights, for Fashion Shows on Saturday nights, NYE parties....you name it. There is always THE BEST crowd here, awesome music, a fantastic vibe, and some great art on the wall to gaze at when you've drifted out of the conversation you've been having over a nice, stiff drink.

And.......drum roll please.......for those of you that haven't noticed, they sell Sparks people!!!! I love to crack open a can of good 'ol Sparks.

Yep, this place is alright by me.

111 Minna is always a great place to go to meet friends downtown or for a quick drink before heading to other destination spots.

As mentioned by other review, the QOOL party here is the biggest, longest running event at 111. Wednesday nights there go off! That's all I can say. Expect a fairly diversified-mixed crowd which adds appeal to this. Great spot to not only dance, shake that a$$, but also a total different room to do some networking and socializing in away from the thump_thump_thump.

The rotating art exhibits range far and wide, I've seen surfboard exhibits there, stuff from Doze and Obey, to people like the current installation(s) by Kelly Tunstall.

Check it out!
