I wanted to love Fleur De Lys. And I should have, because I spent over $500 on dinner for two . . . but the food wasn't up to par at all.
The service is spectacular, the ambience is very COZY and romantic.
I took my beau here for his birthday and called ahead to have a nice bottle of Clicquot on ice upon arrival and they did. The staff was unbelievably professional and amazing, but the food just honestly didn't do it for me.
The menu wasn't very creative, the presentation was so-so and the abundant flavor that is often found in French food was not there!
I probably will never go back. . . except maybe for the cheese course. Loved it. |

I went to Fleur de Lys for a special occaision a while back, and it is one of the most memorable experiences I have ever had. First off, it's just beautiful inside. So exquisite, so expensive-looking, so French! And the wait staff is wonderful. They are very attentive without the feeling that they are disrupting your meal. And for being such a high-end restaurant, there were no attitudes. Everyone I encounted from the host to owner was friendly and accommodating. And the food was absolutely to die for! The Owner/Chef, Hubert Keller, came out and greeted every table at one point to make sure everyone enjoyed their experience. He gave my table complimentary digestifs and dessert after speaking with us. It's just a very personal and special place. If you have someone special in your life that you want to impress, you should take them there. |
