LA traffic is a nightmare. We gave ourselves plenty of time to get there, but were still running late. When we called the restaurant to let them know we were running behind on our reservation, the gentleman that answered the phone was rude and pretentious. He let us know in his snotty, effeminate voice that we would lose our reservation and there was "nothing" he could do. Moments later, a hostess from Geisha House called to check on us and, when we advised her that we were running late, she was accommodating. Interesting.
We arrived and were promptly lead up the stair to the dining area that overlooked the first floor. The illuminated red column housed multiple ascending fireplaces that could be seen from every direction. Am I on Hollywood Blvd? The beutiful women in traditional Geisha kimonos and makeup and the dark mysterious atmosphere make you forget about the busy city outside the front door.
The edamame was just as cold and unflavored as the frozen package I make at home. Shishito peppers were a treat - sweet, yet spicy and a hit for our table of 10. If you get a really hot one, it is supposed to be good luck! The grilled chicken yaki was very tastey. I tried the "Geisha Lips" no rice roll and it was fresh and flavorful. I also enjoyed the "Call '911' Spicy Tuna" roll. To be honest, we ordered so much sushi, I didn't know what I was eating half the time, but it was all pretty good.
The service was mediocre. Our server was friendly and the bus staff was attentive. I was beginning to believe that our server was forgetting our drink orders. They took much too long to get to us and timing is everything - I hate to lose my buz.
Save for the rude dude that answered the phone and even hung up on us once (jerkface), it was a pretty good experience. |

I went here a couple nights ago for a very late dinner with some friends and was not very impressed. The ambiance was cool and interesting, but the food was really lacking. I only had sushi, and upon reviewing the menu, it seemed as though they thought they had really innovative rolls and drinks, but I thought they were pretty generic compared to a lot of other places I've been to. My recommendation would be to go only for drinks and a little dancing. |

A couple friends and I popped into Geisha House last night. On the bright side atmosphere was petty cool....Felt a little like Boogie nights ,with Bruce Lee fighting on the wall, club music bumping, neon aisa style lighting and a fast paced crowd added to an healthy overload of the senses....
The cons, food in my opinion was overpriced for the quality - with all the wonderful places in La - Im not even sure Id go back for drinks .. |

I wish I had gotten around to going to Geisha House during it's prime. I am sure that at one time this place was one of the 'it' places in Hollywood. A group of us wanted to grab a bite and a drink (very last minute) so we decided to check the place out. I did appreciate the set up and the setting. The decor makes a statement with it's deep red hues and bold adornments. The scene wasn't too bad but gone are the 'scenesters' that once 'made' this place. The wait staff were attractive and the food was ok. It wasn't amazing. I had the king crab legs and my companions had the black cod (very good) and salmon. If you're just going to hang out with friends then this is a worthwhile destination. If you're looking for a great scene ... you'll want to go elsewhere. All that being said, I respect innovation that went into creating the concept of Geisha House. |

The food is below average. I've never really been a fan of the food here, but the bar scene is great, young hollywood at it's finest. The decor feels like your in Tokyo, while there are women dressed up as Geisha's walking around the restaurant, which is pretty cool. Other than that, great bar scene, lots of good looking girls hanging out, great place to start your night off with drinks, but pass on the food. |

The desserts here are pretty savory but the food is okay compared to the other nearby restaurants. Geisha House is a classic tourists' place but it is a good place to grab a quick drink at the bar before hitting up the clubs and lounges. The waiters and staff have always been sweet and accomodating to my friends and I. We enjoy the off nights (Mon-Wed) here better when there are less tourists. |

I went here once on my infamous trips to Hollywood. I loved it. It seems like the perfect place to start off the night with a few drinks. The Sushi was so good, I spent the rest of the night too stuffed to dance at the nightclub I ended up at. Its a place you can take a girl, and a place you can go with some friends to meet some girls. A pre-party location and a place to enjoy some real good sushi. |

Don't get me wrong- Geisha House def has the "cool hollywood" decor. And it is a great place to take visitors to LA. But really- the food is nothing special. The drinks have fancy names, but aren't so tasty. And they were recently closed for a couple of days due to health inspection....There are simply better Japanese places in this city that are just as beautiful, and have much better food. |

Pretty good, cool atmosphere, great service!!!! Had dinner at the one in LA not long ago and had a great time. We had a sampling of just about everything (I was fortunate enough to tag along with another restauranteur), enjoyed all of it! Wine pairings included!!! The sommelier is great, young funny guy. Ask him for recommendations!
Atlanta Geisha House is also enjoyable, with a different vibe. |

Geisha House--great atmosphere, ok sushi. I love love love sushi, but if you go to this restaurant you go for the location and the experience. Beautiful decor, kinda glows red, friendly waiters, but very Hollywood. (aka-everyone's an actor- they know little about what they are serving you). I would recommend Koi restaurant--same $$$, but better sushi. |

If you want to eat overly priced sushi and star gaze at all the A-D list LA celebs I'd hightail it over to Katana's. At least the food there is semi-worthy of the price tag. I can't imagine that Geisha House actually has consistent diners there, the food is mediocre. The only reason people go is because of all the hype and then they vow to never go back. |

Geisha House is a beautiful and amazing experience... It has a deep dark sensual atmosphere that allows you to get into the deep, rich taste of the food, especially the steaks... They taste like they have been marinated for weeks.... I would fly down from SF to LA just have a steak at Geisha House... |

Don't come here if you are a sushi aficionado. Don't come here if you are hungry, because it will take 30 minutes for you to be seated. Don't come here if you are not o.k. with paying obscene prices for booze. Don't come here if you cant deal with rude hostesses. Don't come here under dressed - or you will stick out like a sore thumb. Don't come here if you're not into the typical tired ass LA boujie scene, or you will leave vomiting.
Do come here if you love miso black cod. Do come here if you're going out in the area, its the perfect place to start out. Do come here in your sluttiest gear - you will blend right in. Do come here if you're with a large group; they have several large tables. Do come here when trying to impress out-of-towners who want to go somewhere "hip". Do come here with a date who has a trust fund. Do come here if you want to be "seen"; this place is ALL about it. |
