One of the best contemporary italian restaurants in the city.
the food is consistent and on top of seasonal ingredents. living in san francisco this is a must.
the house made buffalo mozarella is a must have. It has a beautiful rich flavor and is perfectly balanced with drizzled olive oil. Meat ball mondays, I highly recommend.
If you are a lover of tripe ( stomache intestines), the red wine sauce is delicious. perfect for dipping rustic bread and the tripe texture is never to chewy.
the wine list is lovely! I always try a new wine by the bottle and always learn something new about italian vinno. they have a great selection of wines by the glass, something for everyone. the staff is easy to approach and knowledgeable. I recommend NOT making a reservation and showing up before or after the dinner rush and sitting at one of the tables near the bar. usually a 20-30 minute wait. however, i like to dine on a whim. plus the expericence is more casual you don't get to caught up in the marina crowd.
the door area/ bar gets a bit crowded, so beware.
Bravo A16! i always enjoy a meal with you. |

I used to live in the Marina and this was one of my favorite places to go for a pizza. Sorry Orgasmica. The pizzas here are a good size, but really light because they are so thin and not at all greasy. The toppings are all great - do add arugula to any pizza you order. Pair it with a nice glass of wine and this is my idea of comfort food! |
