Nothing to say except yummy! Everything about Katana is amazing. Sit outside on the patio on a nice night - it's the best to see Sunset lit up! Happy Eating. |

Katana has great ambiance. The dimly lit atmosphere sets a very sexy tone to the experience. I prefer the outside seating. The heatlamp assisted warmth mixed with fresh air and open surroundings was very pleasant. The night we went there seemed to be an epidemic of servers dropping plates, glasses etc .. definitely interfered with the vibe but all was forgiven once I started eating. The serving sizes are small but it works because there are quite a few choices to sample. I'm a huge sushi fan and loved the yellowtail. However, I also really enjoyed the kobe beef skewers. I can't say I walked away full though. But then again, it's LA. |

I would reate it best Japanese in West Hollywood and definitely on the Sunset Strip. I had to entertain a large group (15) from overseas and it was one of the only places on Sunset that didn't force me to go with a prix fixe menu.
The raw options were excellent--high quality fish and unique preparations beyond a normal sushi rest, the "robata" grilled options were good enough for Greek seafood lovers to rave, and the cocktails were light and balanced to cleanse but not overpower your palate. The service was EXCELLENT. View of the strip phenom (not exactly Asia de Cuba), but outdoor seating was v cool. And you're one for starf*cking, Oliver Stone was at the table next to us.
Far supersedes Koi. |

This is a wonderful and classy place to go when visiting LA. Food fabulous and service incredible. Extra special service for birthdays... For example, the chef in just a couple of minutes carved our bday girl a gold fish out of a carrot and placed it in a bowl of water. We were all amazed. Lovely!! |
