I had heard so many positive things about this restaurant and was thrilled to finally try it. First and foremost, the ambiance of the restaurant is fantastic. Classy yet unpretentiously simple. The candle lit entrance automatically sets the mood. The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. I love how you have a choice between outside seating (protected under a heated canopy- and frankly the better view of the foreign cinema) or indoors. There is also a third room (a gallery) with a bar; perfect for a private party. We sat outside. It was cold last night, I needed to wear the jacket of my companion on top of my own- I was also not as close to the heating lamp as I could've been. It was pretty neat to see the large projection of the film right above our dinner table. I was also highly intrigued with the room that houses the film and projector-something very mysterious about it.
Ok, the most important- the food. Spectacular. Thanks to Bruce, we tried EVERYTHING! The beef carpaccio, the brandade, and of course the oysters were my favorites in the appetizers. My seafood panang had the perfect amount of flavor to support the fish, scallops and squid. Then for desert, the poached pear with this unbelievably delicious cream was the perfect end. |

Absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in the city. Where else can you get a delicious meal, excellent service, great wine, and an interesting film you've probably never seen? Plus their Mediterranean duck is amazing! |

This place is amazing...in one spot you have: An outdoor theater, complete w/drive-in movie speakers, indoor dining by the fireplace, an art gallery (that can be rented for private events and they can play a movie on the white walls), multiple bars, attentive staff (but not bothersome) and great food. I highly recommend this restaurant to have a dining experience slightly different than the norm. |

I loved dining outdoors, but the movie showing was quite gruesome considering it was "return of the body snatchers". The food was superb and the wait staff was on cue. I would return if a better movie was playing. |

price performance this place is a little overated. Ill give you points for ambience, but the food was meager. i had the steak, too much fat and grissle, my girlfriend had the fish, over cooked. Ive been here before and the food was better, so im disapointed on the consistency.
movie was Pans Labyrinth, which i thought would be fun, but actually was a bit gorry for some around us eating. heard some women commenting on this.
In all its got a great concept, but im hesitant to go back, considering i paid $200 and the food was far from good.
i never like to write negative reviews but i think its to high on everyones list. |

The food is really not up to par here. I've been several times, and always wonder why I go back. I guess I'm just a sucker for nice atmosphere. The outside movie area is always nice on a warm summer night. If there is a next time, I'm skipping the meal and sticking to cocktails. |

Foreign Cinema is truly a unique dining experience. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere brilliant regardless of the evening. Its such a fun, non-pretentious scene but they still are incredibly professional when it comes to their food and service. |

This is a great spot in the mission. At night they play foreign movies in the court yard that you can watch while you eat. The food is excellent. Have been there a few times and have never been disappointed! The desserts are amazing too!
