The food here is impeccable.
If you are looking for a fantastic tasting menu, great wines, and have no cost considerations go to Masa's. Service is also great - extremely attentive while simultaneously being almost invisible and non-interrupting. The atmosphere is a bit buttoned down and stuffy for me, but I imagine some people like that. not incredibly imaginative or original, but no mistakes and no nonsense. The tasting menu is kind of interesting as the whole table does it but there are two versions of each dish - so go with people who will share. That, or perfect the skill of taking food off people's plates while distracting them with the old "look over there, isn't that..." bit.
More foie gras for me.
