A simple hole in the wall with some of the best sushi I've ever had in SF. My dining companion agreed. Its made several "best of SF" sushi lists around the internet, and its not expensive. If you have a problem paying $4 for a cali roll, then what can I say but enjoy your Kraft mac and cheese.
I recommend trying the creative dishes, such Fire Salmon, which seared with a blowtorch in front of your very eyes. A pyromaniac's delight. The traditional rolls are above average as well. Dinner for 2 came to about $50. Staff was attentive, and even went so far as to snag us from the curb while we were waiting for a table, instead of just looking around, not noticing us, and blithely forgetting about us.
Decor is simple and the small room is well-lit. By no means is it a Chinatown dive, but it isn't Ozumo, either.
Also, there seems to be a deep-house style lounge across the street that looked interesting, but we didn't get a chance to check it out. |
